About the position: The eCommerce Copywriter is responsible for crafting compelling product copy for Hartville Hardware digital properties. Pull information from a variety of sources to construct pitch-perfect selling copy that is conversational and engages consumers equally in digital, emerging and traditional media. Content created must be SEO optimized and used for the website, emails, digital advertising and other marketing initiatives. Makes recommendations to improve processes and tools. Possesses the ability to work quickly with extreme flexibility and exceptional attention to detail. Essential Responsibilities:
• Writes/formats product descriptions for a variety of categories. Tracks and ensures timely completion product descriptions. • Revises/updates product titles and descriptions as needed. • Prioritizes and completes work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing the timely production of copy to meet internal and external deadlines. • Assists in on-boarding and training of new writers, cross-training team members, and sharing training protocols and documents. • Partners with manager in the creation of goals and opportunities. • Performs various copywriting, editing and data entry duties associated with Hartville Hardware online. Adheres to style guidelines, upholds required compliances, and aligns with the brand voice. • Performs fact-checking and inquiry duties to ensure accuracy and completeness of message and information delivered. Updates information throughout all systems as necessary. • Writing clear marketing copy to promote our products/services. • Proofreading articles, blogs and digital content before publication. • Develop engaging content for articles, blogs, and stories to entice and engage the audience. • Consistently brainstorming and collaborating with team for new ideas and strategies. • Building a following for brand on social media with creative content working closely with social media specialist and digital marketing manager. • Researching markets and industries to compare and create new content that is innovative and original. • Proactively identify product, service and marketplace issues and resolve them accordingly • Follow up on missing product listings • Implement SEO best practices • Coordinate with the marketing team to gather key product content (e.g. imagery, video, technology, and description sheets, etc.) to optimize listings, attract more attention to increase sales. Essential Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in digital marketing is preferred. • Two years or more of related experience in Ecommerce and digital marketing. • High proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel), email marketing platforms, website content management software, and social media platforms. • Thorough knowledge of the digital landscape as it pertains to digital marketing and Ecommerce • Tech savviness with an initiative to learn new software systems quickly • Strong project management and organizational skills • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and copywriting/proofreading/editing skills • Demonstrated ability to process work with promptness, accuracy, thoroughness, and able to monitor own work to ensure quality and obtain help as required. • Demonstrated ability to work smoothly and efficiently in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision • HTML and CSS (able to edit and understand code) • Strong written and verbal communication • Customer-centric mindset, constantly seeking ways to improve the shopping and buying experience • Deep understanding of SEO best practices and keyword placement At Hartville Hardware and Lumber, we serve others as we would want to be served.
