GENERAL MANAGER OF FOOD OPERATIONS

About the position: The General Manager of Food Operations helps to identify the future direction of the food oriented pieces of the organization and then actively executes the plan. They will do this by nurturing our current and future team members to continuously grow with the organization. They will also weed out items and practices that aren’t producing while tending to those that do and identifying new items to bring into the field. The GM will put the right systems in place to track progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure that we are providing the best products and services to customers who visit our restaurant and bakery and those that enjoy our products from a distance.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Drive the food related areas to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives. • Establish and analyze measures of effectiveness for critical processes while providing timely, accurate and complete reports to the Executive Team and Board. • Lead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes. • Guide the food related operations management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to achieve strategic objectives. • Engage and lead a high-performance team; attract, recruit and retain required members of the team; provide mentoring and help them establish a career path. • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the food related operations. • Represent the food related operations with clients, suppliers, and business partners to build relationships and/or negotiate prices/contracts as needed. • Identify, justify, review, and manage capital expenditures and large projects. • Evaluate and advise on the impact of new programs/strategies and regulatory actions. • Develop solutions to business challenges. • Have a vision for growth and development of any and all of the food related businesses. • Must promote and embody HRM Guiding Statement

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related major and/or 10 yrs. of progressive leadership experience preferred. 5 years of experience in a food related business. • Working knowledge to develop and manage budgets • Computer skills with the capability of managing email, and using Microsoft Office and Google suite of tools. • Passionate about safety in the workplace • Ability to populate and understand spreadsheets and other business-related records • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to speak well in front of various group sizes
