The Main Thing: The Training Coordinator “coaches” the culture of Hartville Hardware by being the primary owner of identifying, documenting, and coordinating needed training and documented processes for the organization. Their primary goal is to best position team members to deliver an exceptional and unparalleled guest experience.

Essential Functions Statement(s): (i.e. Key Elements of Job)

Role Specific Skills: Works closely with the Hardware Leadership team to identify, develop and execute specific training needs on both a divisional and departmental level. Centralizes and documents all relevant training and store processes (e.g. safety, point-of-sale, receiving, and customer service). Maintains documentation of needed training and professional development and its status by individual team members. May occasionally be the primary voice and conductor of specific training - but mainly focuses on ensuring the best resources are used both internally and externally. Leverages technology to conduct relevant training and re-training of team members. Regularly measures outcomes and communicates recommendations to the Hardware Leadership Team

Professional Development: The Training Coordinator must invest in themselves for future growth and development. They must be able to implement a strategic annual growth plan, as well as meet regularly with the Human Resources Manager. They must be a lifelong learner who is teachable.

Regular Duties Include: Meets with the Human Resources Director regularly Attend relevant meetings, necessary trade shows and professional events as assigned by the Human Resources Director Intentionally looks for ways to improve themselves as well as those around him/her

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Competency Statement(s): Project Management skills - Ability to organize and direct projects while effectively communicating to others. Previous experience supervising others is preferred. Retail Sales Experience - Understands the demands and needed adaptability of retail sales. Direct experience in retail is highly desirable. Customer service oriented - A solid understanding of what it takes to be successful in caring for guest needs while simultaneously following company procedures. Communication skills - Strong oral and written communication skills required. Organizational skills - Ability to keep accurate records, data, paperwork. Ability to attend to daily, monthly and yearly calendar goals. Ability to focus on goals to obtain a predetermined result. Problem-Solving ability - Ability to deal with others in a variety of situations, control emotions, and work under stressful situations while implementing viable solutions.

Other Skills and Abilities: Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred Experience: 5 Years in people development and/or training in a related field such as retail Computer skills - Working knowledge of computers required. Competency with spreadsheets, document editing, and personnel software required. Language skills: Ability to read, analyze, interpret and communicate effectively using the English language. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, guests and the general public. Physical requirements: Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day. Ability to carry up to 50 pounds occasionally, less than 50 pounds frequently.

Work Environment: Working primarily in a climate-controlled environment with a moderate noise level.
